UCSB is one of the few campuses in the country with its own beach. Liberal Arts at Its Core
UCSB is deeply committed to the liberal arts. In fact, of the university’s approximately 100 majors, 90 are housed within the College of Letters & Science. Freshmen are even encouraged to apply as”undeclared”—a rarity these days—allowing them time and space to explore their interests before committing to a path.
Complementing this is a robust College of Engineering with rigorous, focused programs, and the unique College of Creative Studies—an academic incubator for highly motivated students in disciplines ranging from physics to literature.
Business, Innovation, and the UCSB Spin
While UCSB doesn’t offer a traditional undergraduate business degree, students interested in business gravitate toward the Economics Department, which houses specialties in accounting and other pre-professional tracks.
